C-40 Construction contract award for Fire Alarm Replacement Buildings 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 at Orange Park Junior High School (Revised)

Issue/Rationale
Bid opening was held Thursday March 2, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. The project had one (1) bidder and was advertised three (3) times. Standard advertisement was conducted and direct mailouts were sent to perspective bidders. Although only one (1) bidder, the low bid is considered responsive and appropriate for the project.

Recommended Action
Award the contract to the low bidder, Life Safety Design, Inc., as submitted for a total bid award of $84,500.00.

Financial Impact
Funding for this project has been budgeted for fiscal year 2005-06 of the Capital Projects Plan.
